Hi, my name is Gretchen Damon, and I'm here to talk about Rebecca Noecker. We met because there was a shooting in her ward at the 7th Street truck park, and the community was just traumatized.
Rebecca wanted to do something practical and strong to make sure something like that, it wasn't gonna happen again. She just is a general advocate for gun violence prevention, something I've been working on for 10 years.
She met with me and my group of advocates, and we really got a lot done. Not only were two strong ordinances passed*, but she connected us with leaders and stakeholders. She just really amplified our work and the advocacy for gun violence prevention, and it has paid off in St. Paul. I have all the respect for her, and I look forward to what she does next.
