Rebecca Noecker kicked off her campaign for Ramsey County District 5 Commissioner with a launch party at Tiffany Sports Lounge in St. Paul.

I am running for Ramsey County for three reasons, and I will keep them quick.

One, action. We need more action on so many issues that matters to our community. Action on conferences, on childcare, on transit, on workforce development, on economic development downtown, on West 7th Street. The list goes on and on.

There has been too much sluggishness, there has been too much stagnation, and these issues are too important. Rather than being one more person on the city side, saying please partner with us, I want to be on the county side saying, I'm reaching back to you.

And finally, and maybe most importantly, I'm running for transparency and visibility. I'm not looking to be invisible. Right? I'm in a public job, because I want people to know who I am. I want them to know to pick up the phone and call me when they need something. I want to show up at events, not my legislative aide, me, and not for the photo op, but to actually do something. That is who I am. That is what I've been on the city council, and that is what I'm going to continue to deliver on the Ramsey County Board.
